Missed Perception

In his “Art Clubbing--Puttin’ on the Paint” (March 20), did Douglas Sadownick become so caught up in the creative spirit of the evening that he couldn’t resist taking creative liberties in his article? Or were his distortions of fact based on something else?

Being described as I was, as “an anorexic appearing naked model . . . dolled up in orange body paint,” was quite surprising to me.

I was not naked. I wore a Brazilian-style bikini bottom, and was covered in full body paint. Also, being 5-feet-4 with a small-boned frame, and weighing 102 pounds, does not, in any way, make me anorexic (or the victim of any other dietary disorder).

Sadownick’s description of me was inaccurate and insulting. If he really believes that that is what he saw, it seems that Sadownick and sufferers of anorexia nervosa share a similar affliction--grossly distorted perception.
