Authorities are looking for witnesses to a hit-and-run accident Friday that killed motorcyclist Jerry Thomas Sweet, 27, of Culver City.

California Highway Patrol officials said Sweet was traveling north on the San Diego Freeway near the Newland Street overpass when his motorcycle was struck from behind by a car about 12:45 a.m. Sweet apparently fell beneath the car, which then dragged him about 100 feet. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Theodore Ramond Paulsen, 25, of Huntington Beach was arrested the same day in connection with the accident but was later released. No charges have been filed against Paulsen.
