5,000 Are Expected for Relay Marathon
More than 5,000 runners are expected to participate in the seventh annual Jimmy Stewart Relay Marathon, which will begin Sunday at 8 a.m. in Griffith Park.
Each member of each five-runner team will run a 5.2-mile loop around the park. Runners will compete in 25 race divisions. The team entry fee is $500, or $100 for a nonprofit organization.
Proceeds benefit the St. John’s Child Study Center, a division of St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica. The race has raised a total of $750,000 in the last six years.
Further information may be obtained at the marathon office at St. John’s Hospital.
