Local News in Brief : 15 Injured in Bus Crash

Share

A chain-reaction crash in Hollywood involving a Rapid Transit District bus and six other vehicles Thursday afternoon injured 15 people, none seriously, and snarled rush-hour traffic.

It all began when a van crashed into the rear of the bus, which had stopped for passengers on Hollywood Boulevard near Vine Street, RTD spokesman Greg Davy said.

A pickup truck and four cars then slammed into each other and the bus, Davy said.

The driver of the pickup truck suffered moderate back and neck injuries and cuts and bruises, but the other 14 people had minor injuries, fire spokesman Pat Killian said.

The crash slowed traffic to a crawl in the already congested area, Killian said.
