Officers serving a warrant at a San Diego house Thursday discovered a methamphetamine laboratory and dangerous weapons, El Cajon Police Officer Bill Murphy said.

Members of the El Cajon Narcotics Task Force and San Diego Crime Suppression Unit arrested Charles Ray Swift, 25; James Alfred Barragon, 31, and Kathleen Louise Williams, 23. All three suspects lived at the house in the 1500 block of Merritt Drive, Murphy said.

Williams had a 5-year-old son who was taken to Hillcrest receiving home, Murphy said.

The officers went to the home at 9 a.m. to serve Swift with a warrant for probation violation. Upon searching the house the officers found a large amount of methamphetamine, and evidence of equipment to manufacture the drug, Murphy said.

Officers also found $3,000, a stolen car, and several semi-automatic weapons. Murphy said the cash would be confiscated under the Federal Forfeiture Act.

The three suspects are being held on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics for sale, manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of a stolen automobile, and possession of stolen goods with serial numbers removed, Murphy said.

Swift was also charged with being an ex-felon in possession of firearms.

The raid was conducted by the Crime Supression Unit, composed of officers from local law enforcement agencies throughout San Diego, and the El Cajon Narcotics Task Force, a unit that specializes in narcotics and other special operations in the El Cajon area.
