Local News in Brief : Unruh Son Quits Race
Randy Unruh, the youngest son of late State Treasurer Jesse M. Unruh, ended his first run at elected office Friday when he withdrew from the Culver City Council race and endorsed three other candidates.
The withdrawal of Unruh, 35, who was a write-in candidate, leaves eight candidates running for three seats in the April 12 election.
“I decided to run based on my concern for the city and the fact that I wanted to see a change in government,” said Unruh, a computer consultant. “I realized it was much more likely to happen if I withdrew and supported other candidates than if I stayed in and split votes.”
