Fighting Gangs in Los Angeles

I am a long-time resident of the Los Angeles area, almost 50 years.
For some time I have been appalled by the indiscriminate slaughter taking place in this area.
Innocent people are being shot in their homes, in their cars and on the streets.
No one appears to address the principal reason for this state of affairs which is the mindless proliferation of all kinds of firearms, particularly handguns.
Our chicken-hearted and pusillanimous politicians are busy praising motherhood, attempting to outlaw abortion and raising money for the next election. They are even fearlessly attempting to outlaw toy guns!
The inmates have taken over the asylum. I rest my case.
