Xavier McDaniel scored 23 points, and Kevin Williams had 6 of his 18 points during a 21-7 spurt in the second quarter as the Seattle SuperSonics beat the Clippers, 113-92, Wednesday night.

Seattle led after one quarter, 29-24, and Williams’ layup with 2:44 left in the first half capped the 21-7 spurt that gave the SuperSonics a 50-31 advantage. Williams was starting in place of Dale Ellis, who has missed six games with a sore right foot.

The SuperSonics, who led, 58-40, at halftime, opened the second half with a 16-4 spurt that made it 74-44, their largest lead. Tom Chambers, who had 17 points and 12 rebounds for the SuperSonics, scored 5 during that run.
