Local News in Brief : Photo May Track Killer

Share

Los Angeles police have obtained a photograph of a slain woman whose decomposed remains were discovered in a shallow grave behind a Venice house, investigators said Friday.

The woman, who disappeared in 1974 or 1975, has yet to be fully identified, but police hope the photograph may help them track her killer, Detective Bob Ockey said.

The skeletal remains of the woman, who had been stabbed numerous times, were discovered in mid-December by a construction crew renovating the house. Identified only as “Adrian,” the woman apparently lived with a family at the house, which was often used as a “crash pad” for transients who frequented Venice Beach, police said.

Investigators obtained the photograph from an unidentified woman who, after becoming aware of “Adrian’s” death through news reports, found the picture in her personal belongings, Ockey said.
