Titans Will Play SDSU in Football in 1989 and ’92
Cal State Fullerton and San Diego State will renew their football series in 1989 after a 12-year break, SDSU Athletic Director Fred Miller said Thursday.
The Titans will play SDSU in 1989 and again in 1992. Both games are to be played at San Diego.
The teams last met in 1977, when SDSU was a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. The Aztecs won all three games in the series.
Fullerton is still in the process of filling out its 1989 and 1992 football schedules, which allowed for the games with San Diego.
The game in 1989 will fill an open spot on SDSU’s schedule. The 1992 game against the Titans will replace Oregon. The Aztecs have dropped the last two games of a planned six-game series with Oregon that was to conclude in 1992.
