Security was tightened outside the U.S. Clark Air Base because of Israeli intelligence reports that Palestine Liberation Organization guerrillas were planning a weekend attack on U.S. servicemen, the military said today.

Lt. Col. Victor Signey, commander of Philippine forces in Angeles City, the town outside the base, told his troops U.S. officials received a radio message from Israel Thursday alerting them of the planned attack. He said the Mossad, Israel’s intelligence service, reported three PLO guerrillas would arrive Saturday in Angeles to meet four other guerrillas already in town for a planned mission aimed at U.S. servicemen. The PLO views the United States as an enemy because of its aid to Israel.
