2 Killed, Woman Raped on Streets

Two men were killed and one woman was raped over the weekend as a result of gang-related violence in the Los Angeles area, authorities said Sunday.

Suspected gang members riding bicycles in Lynwood at about 12:05 a.m. Sunday fatally shot Eduardo Morales, 18, and wounded his companion, Mario Macias, 20, as they sat in the back seat of a car.

Morales, hit in the chest and abdomen, was pronounced dead at St. Francis Medical Center. Macias was hit in a buttock, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Art Fransen said.

In South Los Angeles, Randy Anderson, 18, was standing near the intersection of Vermont Avenue and 61st Street on Saturday when he was shot several times in the upper torso, police said. He died at California Medical Center.

A man was stabbed several times, a woman was raped repeatedly, and another woman was beaten when they were were attacked by six men as they walked along a dead-end street in Hollywood early Sunday, police said.

The victims were taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment. Investigators said they suspect that the attackers, who were being sought, are gang members.
