Homicide detectives were investigating the death of an unidentified man who was shot Sunday in an incident police believe was drug-related.
Police were called to the 200 block of 31st Street shortly before 4 p.m. to assist paramedics who were examining a man who was lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Witnesses told police that the man had been arguing with residents of a nearby building over a drug deal when he was shot.
Paramedics rushed the man to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Four men seen running from the scene were being sought for questioning.
