Cobras Try to Get Their First Win in Chicago Tonight
The Cobras, who lost their season opener in the Arena Football League, will play their first road game tonight, meeting the Chicago Bruisers at 7, PDT, at the Rosemont Horizon. The game will be televised by ESPN.
Cobra quarterback Matt Stevens passed for 7 touchdowns and 211 yards in last week’s 60-52 loss to the New York Knights, and fullback-linebacker Yepi Pauu gained 54 yards in 7 carries. The Cobra defense, which gave up 8 touchdowns and 331 yards passing last week, will be tested again by Chicago quarterback Ben Bennett, who completed 19 of 33 passes for 319 yards and 8 touchdowns in the Bruisers’ opening game, a 60-35 victory over the New England Steamrollers.
The Bruisers’ defense will be led by wide receiver/defensive back Durwood Roquemore.
