A 7-year-old girl and a 30-year-old man were hit by school buses and killed in separate incidents in the Sacramento area. The California Highway Patrol said Krista M. Leon was run over by the right rear wheels of a bus that had stopped to pick up children in the Center Unified School District, north of Sacramento. The bus driver told officers he did not know how the girl got under the wheels. In the second incident, Norman D. Quijano was killed when he threw himself in front of a school bus in Cameron Park, about 20 miles east of Sacramento, El Dorado County sheriff’s officers said.
