Milwaukee Bucks forward Terry Cummings says he was willing to forfeit benefits under the National Basketball Assn.’s new collective bargaining agreement to sign a contract that will allow him to stay in Milwaukee.

“To stay in Milwaukee I was willing to settle for a little less than maybe I could get in the open market,” said Cummings, who recently signed a four-year contract with the Bucks.

Without the new contract, which reportedly is worth about $7 million, Cummings would have become a free agent July 1.
