Takeoff of Airliner Aborted

The pilot of a Continental Airlines DC-10 aborted its takeoff today because another airliner had not cleared the runway at Los Angeles International Airport, an airline spokesman said.
Four tires flattened but no one was hurt when Continental Flight 43 to Honolulu, carrying 148 passengers and about 15 crew members, came to a stop, airline spokesman Ned Walker said in Houston.
