Boy, 13, Found Stabbed to Death in East Tustin Home
A 13-year-old boy was found stabbed to death Thursday afternoon on the kitchen floor of his family’s East Tustin home--apparently only minutes after he rode his bike home from school, authorities said.
The boy’s name was not released because his father, who was to return home Thursday night from an East Coast business trip, had not been contacted, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said.
Lt. Richard J. Olson said the boy’s 15-year-old sister arrived home from school about 3 p.m. and found her brother’s body. The boy’s mother told investigators that she had left the family’s home in the 18700 block of Bikini Place at 2:10 p.m. and that her son usually arrived home from school by 2:30 p.m.
Detectives said they were baffled and were trying to determine whether someone had broken into the home or if a door had been left open.
