A collision involving a military convoy slowing for road repairs along California 62 caused minor injuries to 16 Marines today, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A bus carrying personnel to the U.S. Marine Corps base at Twentynine Palms rear-ended another vehicle in the convoy, causing a chain-reaction collision among two other buses and a 3-ton truck, CHP Sgt. Gary Bowman said. The accident occurred at about 7:45 a.m. near the bottom of the Yucca grade on California 62.
