Deli Becomes Jewelry Store

Bagels have turned into gold bracelets at 329 N. Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills, thanks to an architectural firm that usually works the other way around.

The firm, Kennard, Herbage & Associates, of Santa Ana, a specialist in restaurant remodeling, was awarded the job of turning what had been a delicatessen into an art and jewelry shop.

Robert L. Herbage, principal of the architectural firm, said his client, Circle Fine Arts Corp., of Chicago, apparently decided that a company that designs restaurants could also design them into something else.
