Dana Point : It’s All Aboard for Families on Seawatch

Share

Families sharing an interest in oceanography may go sailing aboard the 70-foot research vessel Seawatch as part of the public education program of the Orange County Marine Institute at Dana Point.

Harry Helling, director of education at the institute, said the floating lab is on loan from the University of California, with expeditions each Friday and Saturday from July 8 to Aug. 27 from the docks at the west end of Dana Point Harbor.

The three-hour cruises cost $18 for adults and $9 for children under 12, although Helling said the trips are not recommended for those under 7.
