Local News in Brief : Santa Ana : Woman Killed in Crash at 70 m.p.h. on 6th Street
A 47-year-old Santa Ana woman was killed Tuesday afternoon when she lost control of her speeding car and crashed into a house, police said.
Lt. Jack Nelson said the victim, identified as Josephine Martinez Villa, was apparently driving at least 70 m.p.h. on 6th Street when she failed to stop at the intersection at Raitt Street.
Her 1965 Chevrolet station wagon jumped the curb and crashed through a cinder-block wall and into the porch of a house.
Nelson said Martinez died at the scene shortly after the 5:10 p.m. accident.
Nelson also said it appeared to officers that the victim had been drinking before the accident.
