Long Beach : Nimitz Tour Tickets Limited
Only a few tickets remain for free tours of the aircraft carrier Nimitz, which will visit the Long Beach Naval Shipyard on July 2 and 3, Navy officials said.
Tickets were distributed to Navy recruiting stations throughout Southern California for public visits aboard the nuclear-powered, 1,092-foot ship. At the Long Beach office on Pine Avenue, a recruiter said only about 50 tickets were left earlier this week.
Lt. Cmdr. Steve Honda said the carrier can only accommodate 10,000 visitors a day.
