The Duynda Episode
Because I have always had a special interest in animals, especially elephants, I struggled for years to obtain a job at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. To be blunt, these elephants are not abused. They are loved and cared for in the highest of standards, and Alan Roocroft is a caring and professional person. I have been amazed throughout the years to witness the caring rapport between this man and his elephants.
How can supposedly intelligent people pass judgment on a job and other people that they know nothing about? And take to heart the words of employees that did not work well with co-workers or animals and that went to the media only out of an act of spite?
The trainers in the elephant department have a hard, yet rewarding job, and they do it very well. So let’s give a little credit where credit is due.
