A 22-year-old man was shot outside a home at 810 S. Townsend St. on Saturday night after an argument with two men, police said Sunday.
Police said the victim, Roberto Hernandez of Santa Ana, suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and his right hand. Hernandez was reported in stable condition Sunday at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center’s intensive-care unit.
Lt. Mike Mitchell said Hernandez was standing near his bicycle at about 7:50 p.m. outside the home--which is not his residence--when he was approached by two men.
The men argued, Mitchell said, then one of the two assailants drew a .22-caliber pistol and shot Hernandez.
Mitchell said he had no details from witnesses about the age or appearance of the assailants or how they fled.
Officers aided by police dogs and officers in helicopters searched the area of Raitt and First streets, Mitchell said.
