An arson-caused brush fire, the second this week, destroyed 60 acres in Agoura Hills on Thursday.

Los Angeles County Fire Department arson investigators said they thought that a single arsonist may have set both fires and 15 others in Los Angeles County and Ventura County in the past year.

Thursday’s fire broke out about 12:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of West Driver Avenue, said fire inspector Ken Sotro. About 100 firefighters fought the blaze for an hour, firefighter John Sandoval said. There were no injuries and no homes were threatened.

A fire Monday burned 100 acres.

Investigators have several suspects under surveilance “because of their crime histories,” said Lt. Bill McSweeney of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Agoura Hills resident Lena Crarey, who lives less than a mile from the site of Thursday’s fire, said she and her neighbors were “all scared because we see the pattern of the fires.

“The fear is tremendous,” she said. “It could be a neighbor.”
