The Torrance-based Los Angeles Heat can revive its drive for a playoff berth Saturday night by defeating the San Diego Nomads (8-2), the top club in the Western Soccer Alliance.
Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Warrior Stadium at West Torrance High School.
The Heat (5-5) dropped into fourth place last weekend with its fifth-consecutive regular season loss to the San Jose Earthquakes. But Los Angeles trails third-place F.C. Seattle Storm by only four points.
Heat midfielder Billy Thompson (4 goals) dropped out of the WSA scoring lead for the first time in weeks last weekend.
