Red Cross Is Looking for Blood Donors

The Orange County chapter of the American Red Cross is holding community blood drives throughout the county in early July. Donations are needed to prevent possible shortages this summer, Red Cross officials said.

“Now that summer is well under way, the Red Cross is experiencing the typical seasonal drop in donations,” said Elaine Schaumberger, director of donor resources development for the Red Cross.

Donations can be made at the following times and locations:

* Today from 9:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at 8308 On The Mall, Buena Park. For appointments, call (714) 947-8381.

* Wednesday from 3:30 to 8:15 p.m. at Mission Community Hospital, 27700 Medical Center Drive, Mission Viejo. For appointments, call (714) 835-5381 Ext. 450.

* Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Hamilton Electric Sales, 3170 Pullman St., Costa Mesa.
