For the Third Straight Year, UCLA Gets Biggest Share of Shrine Stars

For the third consecutive year, UCLA will get the biggest share of the 64 football players who participate in the Shrine All-Star high school game, which is scheduled for July 23 at the Rose Bowl.

Of the 56 who have signed letters of intent to attend Division I schools, seven will go on to play for the Bruins.

Members of the South roster who have signed with UCLA are quarterback Bret Johnson of El Toro High School, offensive linemen Brian Jacobs of Newhall Hart, Rick Fuller of El Monte Arroyo and Mike Linn of Anaheim Esperanza and running back/defensive back Willie Crawford of Beverly Hills. North team members who will play for the Bruins are wide receiver Sean LaChappelle of Napa Vintage and tailback Shawn Wills of Hanford.

Six players, three from the South and three from the North, have signed with USC. Future Trojans on the South roster are defensive back Stephon Pace of La Puente Bishop Amat, defensive lineman Titus Tuiasusopo of L.A. Banning and linebacker George Tuioti of Santa Ana. On the North roster are defensive back Zuri Hector of San Francisco Washington, tight end Yonnie Jackson of Tokay Lodi and offensive lineman Keith Siscel of Vacaville.

This will be the 37th renewal of the Shrine game, which benefits Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
