If the caped crusaders ever race back to the Batmobile again, they better make sure they have the pink slip. A New Jersey man has purchased one of the famed Batmobiles used on “Batman,” a TV show that Scott Chinery says he has loved since he was 8 years old. Chinery, 28, of Toms River, said he recently was watching re-runs of the campy TV series when he became obsessed with the black-winged car--for which he eventually paid $180,000. “I knew I had to have that car. I had my office find the guy who owned it, and two weeks later, he sold it to me,” said Chinery, president of a research corporation for body builders. Chinery, citing the amount of “national attention” he has received, declined to name the California collector from whom he purchased the car. “It’s the real McCoy,” he said. “It’s still equipped with the Bat-laser, Bat-parachute and Bat-seat-ejector. And that will really work for anyone 200 pounds and under.” Incidently, Chinery also purchased the Batcycle for $40,000. “I’m not going to sell either of them. They’re mine,” he said.
