Local News in Brief : Huntington Beach : Police at Full Strength With 4 Newest Officers
Four new police officers will put on badges this week for the Police Department, marking the first time it has been fully staffed in 15 years.
Three of the new hires are women, bringing the total of women officers to five among the department’s 209 sworn officers.
The new officers were sworn in last week. They are Susan Martinez, 26, a former Claremont police officer with three years of patrol experience; Sue Dukovic, 29, who worked three years for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department; Sonia Yanez, 24, who worked for the Los Angeles Housing Authority police, and Darryl Kimmis, 24, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
