Two Newport Beach men have been arrested for allegedly conspiring to sell 1 kilogram of cocaine with a street value of $150,000, authorities said Tuesday.

After receiving a tip from an informant, Newport Beach police said they observed Stephen Reed Kent, 34, and James Martin Davis, 29, negotiating the purchase of cocaine at about 11 a.m. Sunday.

Police said both men were arrested without incident and a search of Kent’s apartment allegedly turned up “several pounds of high-grade” marijuana, which police valued at $50,000.
