Norman Out of British Open

Australian Greg Norman reinjured his left wrist and withdrew from the British Open golf championship today. Officials of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews said Norman told them by telephone that he would be unable to compete next week at Royal Lytham-St. Ann’s. Norman, playing his first full practice round since withdrawing from the U.S. Open June 17, reinjured the wrist Monday in Orlando, Fla. Norman was the 1986 British Open winner.
