Signal Coordination

Share

The South Coast Air Quality Management District has big plans to reduce air pollution with expensive and awkward technology that will require years to put into place.

There was no mention of the most obvious, easiest, fastest and cheapest means of reducing auto emissions. This means has been ignored by every North Orange County community except Santa Ana. This solution is: Traffic signal coordination. This coordination technology has been available for years. If the traffic engineers started today, they could have it in place in six months.

Then a drive through these communities would generate less anguish as well as less pollution, and would earn a little respect for the traffic engineers, respect that they lack at present.
