5 Hurt in Torrance Refinery Fire

Five oil refinery workers were burned, two seriously, in a flash fire this morning at the Mobil Oil Torrance Refinery, the Torrance Fire Department reported. The fire occurred when sparks from a welder ignited vapors from industrial water near the tank farms in the eastern part of the refinery at 3700 W. 190th St. The two most seriously burned workers were taken to Torrance Memorial Medical Center.
