Fire Damages Newport Home, but Residents Escape Unharmed
An early morning fire caused $90,000 damage Friday to a house in Newport Beach, but none of the five occupants were injured, a Fire Dpartment spokeswoman said.
Cause of the 2:02 a.m. blaze at 1870 Port Charles Place is under investigation, said Bonny Hanson, city fire prevention technician.
Alerted by the sound of crackling fire in the garage below the children’s bedroom, all the occupants fled.
