Edward C. Olson, 82, retired Los Angeles Municipal and Superior Court judge and one-time mayor of Burbank. Olson began his law practice in Burbank in 1938 after graduating from Southwestern University in Los Angeles. He was elected to the Burbank City Council in 1955 and served as mayor in 1957-58. He was named to the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board in 1959, the Burbank Municipal Court in 1960 and the Los Angeles Superior Court in 1965. He retired in 1974. In Laguna Hills on July 16.
