2 Wounded, 2 Held in Drive-by Shooting

Two youths were injured Tuesday in a drive-by shooting on Market Street. Two suspects have been arrested and a third is still at large, San Diego police reported.

Brian Robertson, 18, and Anthony Richards, 21, were standing on the sidewalk about 4:14 p.m. in the 5700 block of Market Street when gunfire erupted from a passing car, a police spokesman said. Robertson was struck in the arm by a bullet, which then entered his side, police said.

He was taken by Life Flight helicopter to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he underwent surgery late Tuesday night. Richards, who was shot in the right calf, was taken to Physicians & Surgeons Hospital, police said.

Percy Thompson, 23, and an unidentified female were arrested and held for questioning in connection with the shooting, a police spokesman said. A third suspect, Michael Thompson, was still being sought Tuesday night, said police.
