Norris to Defend NABF Title at Forum Tonight
In a double main event at the Forum tonight, Orlin Norris will defend his North American Boxing Federation heavyweight championship against Dwayne Bonds, and Jesus Salud and Carlos Romero will meet in a semifinal of the Forum’s $100,000 super-bantamweight tournament.
Norris, who is from Campo, Calif., and has an 18-1 record, will be making his second NABF title defense. Bonds (14-5), from Quail Valley, Calif., hasn’t fought since his upset knockout of Henry Tillman in San Diego last January.
The Salud-Romero winner will fight Paul Banke for the $100,000 tournament prize in September. Salud has a 24-2 record, Romero 21-4.
Tonight’s card will begin at 6:30.
