Four competitors blew the whistle on Miss Teen California’s alleged after-curfew visit with her boyfriend, disqualifying the young woman from the Miss Teen USA competition in San Bernardino, an official said. Pageant director Richard Guy said that Miss Teen USA officials told him about the four unidentified girls who had written a letter accusing Alison Moreno, 16, of El Toro, the 1988 Miss Teen California, of violating the 11 p.m. curfew. He said he was told that the letter alleged that she sneaked out of her hotel room to visit her boyfriend. “They’re just girls competing for a title,” Guy said of Moreno’s accusers. “What do they know?” He said their word was not enough to justify Moreno’s elimination from the contest. Other pageant officials had no comment.
