Tony Casillas of the Atlanta Falcons, the second player chosen in the 1986 National Football League draft, is being treated for stress problems after leaving camp last week, the club announced.
Taylor Smith, executive vice president of the Falcons, said that Casillas is receiving treatment from a psychiatrist at Emory University, where his wife, Lisa Clayton, is a medical student.
Clayton said her husband wanted to get treatment before his situation worsened.
“I think he got to the problem before he started using alcohol or drugs or whatever,” she said.
