Corey Black Rides Five Winners at Los Alamitos
Jockey Corey Black completed a record-equaling five-victory night at the Orange County Racing Fair Wednesday by guiding Dawnelo to a come-from-behind win in the $25,720 T.S.C. Lowe Stakes at Los Alamitos.
Black had won four consecutive races, sweeping the fifth through eighth events of the night, before his mount was unplaced in the ninth race. However, Dawnelo brought Black his fifth win, which equaled the Orange County Racing Fair mark for a night set by Antonio Castanon two years ago.
The victory was Black’s 18th of the current meeting, which broke the Orange County Racing Fair record for a stand. The session has nine programs left to run.
Black’s other winners Wednesday were Fast Lips in the fifth race, Heavenly Tropic in the sixth, Fortuna Invat in the seventh and Fleet Score in the eighth.
