The Chicago Bears, who on Sunday will play the Minnesota Vikings in an exhibition game in Gothenborg, Sweden, may be without the services of quarterback Jim McMahon.
McMahon was hurt while walking across a street.
“I tripped over a curb last night (Wednesday) and sprained my ankle a little bit,” he said. “The ankle still hurts, but it I hope will be all right for the game.”
McMahon hasn’t played an entire season since his junior year at BYU in 1980.
Sunday’s game, to be televised at 10 a.m. PDT by CBS, is the first National Football League ever played on Continental Europe.
