Alabama-born bluesman James Harman paused during his set at the Coach House last week to muse in mouth-watering detail about the delights of Southern barbecue--chef Fred Burrell’s cue to step on stage with a serving of the musician’s favorite ribs. Then, like a good host, Harman had Burrell bring out trays of the stuff to serve everybody in the house, while Harman and his band played some jazzy dinner music. It was Harman’s way of capturing the true flavor of his new album, “Extra Napkins,” in which Burrell’s Rib Cage restaurant in Santa Ana receives credit for gastronomic “inspirinment.”
