Postponement May Aid Hart in Quest for Colt World Series Championship
The Hart team’s drive for a Colt World Series championship has been temporarily stalled, but that sets up an ideal situation for the squad from the Santa Clarita Valley.
The game between Caguas, Puerto Rico, and Lafayette, Ind., was pushed back a day to Tuesday night, giving Hart right-hander Jason Edwards an extra day of rest.
Hart wanted Edwards (4-0), who last pitched Thursday, on the mound for the championship, which is at 5:30 this afternoon against Caguas, an 8-2 winner over Lafayette on Tuesday night. Hart (16-1) beat Lafayette, 11-6, Sunday to reach the final. Should Hart lose tonight, a second game would be played Thursday night at 7:30.
Lafayette and Caguas were scheduled to play Monday night, but rain washed out the contest.
