Here’s the news you’ve all been waiting for: The hosts for this year’s broadcast of the Emmy Awards are . . . nobody. It’s a no-host broadcast. Instead, Fox Broadcasting Vice President Brad Turell said Thursday, the awards show (to air at 5 p.m. Aug. 28, on KTTV Channel 11) will utilize multiple presenter-announcers, including Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke, Michael J. Fox, Danny DeVito, ALF, William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Sharon Gless, John Larroquette, Penny Marshall (now famous as director of the hit movie “Big” as well as the star of “Laverne & Shirley”), Susan Dey and Fox stars Garry Shandling and Tracey Ullman. Also on hand to enliven the proceedings will be the inimitable G.E. Smith and the “Saturday Night Live” band.
