Man Falls From Balcony: A 26-year-old man fell from a fourth-floor balcony in Costa Mesa early Friday. Andrew Coyne of Los Angeles was reported in critical condition by Fountain Valley Regional Hospital & Medical Center. Coyne fell from the fourth floor of the Lakes Apartments at 3400 Avenue of the Arts to a first-floor balcony just after 2 a.m., sustaining severe head injuries, according to Tina Griego, a spokesman for the hospital. Coyne, who was visiting friends at the time, “had been drinking heavily during the evening,” according to Costa Mesa Police Sgt. Tom Curtis. Police said Coyne may have been trying to climb down the balcony to the balcony below when the accident occurred.
