Sins of Omission
Creative Artist’s Agency is said to be livid about cheeky Spy magazine printing its high-powered client list (Newman, Streisand, Stallone et al). Her-Ex’s Page 2 claimed CAA partner Michael Ovitz was so furious that he hired his own spy to try to ferret out the weasel who leaked the TOP SECRET document.
The kicker: As good as the Spy list was, it was hardly complete--and several CAA clients are miffed about being omitted.
“I bought Spy when I heard about the list,” said one CAA-repped writer. “When I couldn’t find my name I felt bad--but then I felt bad for feeling bad.” The writer called his agent anyway and--even though the agency had no input into the story--was basically given an apology for the oversight!
“I don’t believe the magazine actually got a list,” said another absented writer. “The man who’s brought the agency more money than anyone else isn’t even mentioned--Aaron Spelling.”
