Local News in Brief : Gunfire From Car Hits Lake View Terrace Man
A 21-year-old man was struck in the legs by gunfire in what police believe was a gang-related drive-by shooting in Lake View Terrace, authorities said Tuesday.
Police said Lamar A. Davis of Lake View Terrace was in good condition at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley after being shot at 11:15 p.m. Monday. Police have no suspects in the attack.
The shooting occurred after Davis got off a bus and was walking in the 11400 block of Kagel Canyon Street. A car pulled alongside Davis, and one of its three occupants asked where he was from, a question commonly asked by gang members to find out if someone belongs to a gang, police said.
Police said Davis replied that he was not in a gang, and someone in the car fired a single shot at him, which went through both his legs.
