Lupe Aquino, a former World Boxing Council champion, was charged with vehicular manslaughter in connection with an accident Aug. 14, in which two people were killed on the San Diego Freeway in Santa Monica. Aquino was accused of two counts each of vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving. Aquino is currently the WBC’s No. 2 ranked super-welterweight contender.
